Hello, thanks for dropping by. I am an assistant professor of economics (2020- ) at Xiamen University. I earned a Ph.D. in management (2020) from Renmin University of China, and a B.A. in finance and a B.S. in mathematics (2014) from Southwest University. I was a visiting Ph.D. student at Michigan State University (2018-2019) and Nanyang Technological University (2017-2018). I am a research associate at China Finance 40 Forum and Shanghai Institute for National Economy and a virtual young scholar of Global Labor Organization.
My research interests are in the fields of Applied Micro (Development, Political Econ, History, and Law and Econ). I was deeply attracted to the Neoinstitutional Economics, a passion that led me to use (theory-based) causal inference methods to studying a variety of topics ranging from: misallocation of land, labor, and capital; entrepreneurship and innovation; business law; comparative analysis of culture and institutions; government organizational designs and policy designs, etc. Please feel free to drop me an email: zhujiong [at] xmu.edu.cn
